What makes it tricky
The very first bar leaps a fifth from C (finger 1) to G (finger 4), then the tune climbs to A with finger 5. In bar 3, F is also played with finger 4, so the right hand shifts down one key. Both the leap and this small shift need to be clean so the tune does not break.
How to practice it
- Pick Right hand at 50% and practice just the first two bars: C C G G, A A G.
- Pick Left hand and practice its bass clef part, reading ahead to the next note instead of looking down.
- Pick Both at 75%. When the tune moves to the other hand, keep the beat as steady as if you were singing.
